Information |
The present city of Bandon is the survivor of a devastating
1936 fire that destroyed virtually the entire business district and most
of the residences. A brick chimney on the site of the old bakery stands
as a memorial just off Highway 101. The Old Town district of Bandon is
a center for art galleries along with shops and great dining places. The
chamber offices and visitors information center are at the entrance to
Old Town.
Turn west on 11th Street in Bandon (at the light), past city park, and south on Beach Loop Drive. The city park is a fine gathering spot on 4th of July. Beach Loop Drive continues south overlooking the beach and some of the best views of offshore rocks, and passes state parks areas, to re-emerge on Highway 101 just north of Bradley Lake. |
