Renaming Files and Folders

After you save a document or create a new folder, you may wish to give it a different name. The procedure for changing a name is the same for a file or a folder, so we will use a folder in this example.

First, find the file you wish to rename. With your mouse, point to the file icon and click on the right mouse button. Be carful that your mouse pointer is directly over the top of the icon. A menu will pop up.
 
 







Click on the menu item labled Rename.
 
 







The name on the file or folder will be highlighed, allowing you to type in a new name. After type in the new name, press enter.
